Serge I am very happy to say that I have a copy of your book that I bought a couple of years ago. You have been a major inspiration to me and I am absolutely thrilled to hear from you. It is also an honour for me to have your interest in my project. I feel blessed. What is of absolute interest to me is the horizontal fin that you installed at the bottom of your rudder. I intend to install such a fin on the aft end of my keel, this is primarily to protect the rudder – and to act in a similar way as yours, to give some resistance in the vertical motion of the aft end of the boat. I will post a drawing as well. This horizontal stabilizer will be 200 mm wide by 500 mm long.

maniehjbotha, You would be interested in reading about the ‘Scamp’ 11 foot sailboat that was designed by Mr John Welsford of New Zealand. One of his Scamp design was built by Mr Howard Rice and is about to Sail Cape Horn in June 2016!
